During the final draft of the manuscript, Laurent is well-aware of the importance of his choice of words and their interpretation according to where the reader lives.
At the end of the summer of 2016, Laurent finishes the illustrations of a first collaborative book with writer . - an adaption of Hansel and Gretel.

In October 2016, Laurent is in Canada where he is invited to participate in the Calgary festival “Wordfest” – ten days of meeting with children from primary and secondary schools in the state of Alberta.
Throughout the festival Laurent takes part in several interviews and a radio programme for .

For several years Laurent has used a “graphic tablet” in addition to traditional methods. He envisages that books published from 2017 onwards will be created solely with graphic tablet and stylus.
Digital applications allow Laurent to see his drawings evolve in video format.

Laurent is tasked with the illustrations and, of course, the layout. It is this which allows him to create his remarkable double page drawings.
In May 2018, Laurent returns to Essaouira, 4 years after the first trip during which he wrote the story of his book "Simon, une histoire de poisson"
The French institute offers him to meet the Moroccan schools during the festival « La cigogne volubile ».
Workshops, meetings in a beautiful place and the Moroccan children who were fantastic.
